Today in room 7, we went to Te Oro to make poiś, for Maori language week, for making the pois we need 3 colors of Yarn (red, white, and Black) and Foam and a plastic bag
Step 1 – Grab your Foam and shape it into a circle doesn’t have to be perfect cause the plastic bag will cover all the bumps and lumps
Step 2 – Grab your 3 Yarn Measure the yarn from your hand to your elbow 3 times, after you have your 3 colors knot the end and cut it the same size after doing your knot braid the 3 colors to thoughts.
Step 3 – We warp Yarn ¨any color ¨ around a square shape 30 times after we cut the end of the string and cut in the middle to make a pom pom.
Step 4 – We made a little hole in our Circle foam and we put our braided Yarn Into the hole and covered it in our plastic bag and tie it around the string DONEE WE MADE A POI
We clean up the station Broom picked up every single yarn on the floor 10 minutes later our school leader said a warm Thank you to Benny, Faia, and Josh For teaching us to make a poi I enjoy making to celebrate the Maori language week we also walked to the Oro and back to school.
